About Mike Szpakowski
Mike Szpakowski brings over 20 years of experience as a musician and music educator. He’s toured Canada with his original band (40 Sons), performed at major festivals including Ozzfest, and spent years playing live six nights a week. Most recently, he’s served as lead guitarist and vocalist for Paradise Union Band, performing at premier Ontario venues like Langdon Hall and the Elora Mill.
That stage experience shapes how Mike teaches. He specializes in guitar, piano, ukulele, bass, and vocals — working with students of all ages and skill levels across rock, pop, acoustic, classical, fingerstyle, and contemporary styles.
Mike’s approach is relaxed, structured, and student-driven. Lessons are built around music you actually want to play, while developing the fundamentals — technique, rhythm, and ear training — that make you a better musician over time. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or leveling up your skills, Mike keeps it engaging, encouraging, and fun.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are these lessons online or in-person lessons?
All our lessons are conducted online via Zoom. In addition to the weekly Zoom lesson, you’ll receive text and video feedback almost daily as I monitor your progress throughout the weeking using our learning platform.
How many weeks should I sign up for?
Our group and private offerings all follow and 8 week schedule. We’ve found 8 weeks is the perfect amount of time to get students to the next level in their guitar playing ability. Lessons are held weekly at the same day and time.
What if I can't make every lesson?
It’s very common for students to miss a lesson or two and its not a problem, we realize everyone is busy! If you miss a lesson, we’ll send you the notes from that lesson and continue to provide video feedback on your progress.
